Join a Committee

Fairy Goodmothers has several committees that work on the many facets of running our organization. The committee model keeps our volunteers focused on important work in a variety of areas. Which one of these interests you most?

Volunteer Committee

This committee acts as a liaison between the organization and its volunteers and recruits and trains them to work at Cinderella’s Closet Boutique. As a member of this committee you will assist volunteers in getting ready to work as Personal Shoppers, help secure food donations for Cinderella’s Closet Boutique and assist with check-in and check-out procedure at the Boutique.

Cinderella’s Closet Boutique Committee

This committee plans, sets up, and operates Cinderella’s Closet Boutique. As a member, you will be involved in all aspects of running the Boutique. You might assist in locating a space to operate the Boutique, soliciting businesses for gift bag items, setting up, cleaning, decorating and sorting dresses and items for display. Dress Drive & Sorting Committee

This committee collects, sorts and tags donated dresses and accessories and partners with community members interested in hosting dress drives. As a member, you will attend regular work sessions throughout the year to sort, tag and inventory donated dresses, shoes, jewelry and other accessories. Work sessions, which are typically once a month on Sunday afternoons or early evenings, take place at our storage units in Lewis Center, OH.

Fundraising Committee

This committee raises funds for Fairy Goodmothers' annual operating budget and the purchase of dresses for Cinderella’s Closet Boutique through various fundraising events. As a member, you will be involved in planning and hosting Party for Prom. This entertaining, annual cocktail event is our biggest fundraiser of the year. You may also assist in soliciting sponsorships and acquiring silent auction items. Of course we're always interested in new fundraising ideas too! If you have some, please come to a meeting and see if this committee is for you!

School/Community Outreach Committee

This committee manages our Brand Ambassador program and advertises the Boutique to schools and committees. Brand Ambassadors are girls who have attended the Boutique in the past and agree to spread the word about it among their peers this year. As a member of this committee you will be helping to create informational packets, deliver them to schools and the community and talk with students and teachers during informational sessions at high need target schools.

Marketing & Communications Committee

This committee develops messaging about Fairy Goodmothers for emails, newsletters, Facebook posts and website content to reach our volunteers, supporters and Central Ohio High School girls who will attend Cinderella’s Closet Boutique. As a volunteer you might assist with writing press releases, contacting local media and the other day-to-day execution of marketing and communications on behalf of Fairy Goodmothers.
