Fairy Goodmothers, a Central Ohio non-profit since 2005, opens Cinderella’s Closet Boutique each spring to provide high school students with the opportunity to find their dream prom dress and jewelry at no cost. Assisted by their very own Personal Shopper, the young person can choose from thousands of dresses between sizes 0-36.
This year, the Boutique will be held at The Shops at Worthington Place, 7227 N High Street, Columbus, OH 43085 (West Entrance, Near Amano's Pizza).
The shop is open during these dates and times:
- Saturday, February 21st from 9:00am-3:30pm
- Sunday, February 22nd from 9:00am-3:30pm
- Saturday, February 28th from 9:00am-3:30pm
- Sunday, March 1st from 9:00am-3:30pm
- Saturday, March 14th from 9:00am-3:30pm
- Sunday, March 15th from 9:00am-3:30pm
Please sign up for only one appointment per student. Registration will request the student’s name and email (only one appt per email) and then a parent/guardian’s name and email (if the parent/guardian is completing the sign-up). Proof of high school attendance (or home schooling) will be needed during check in – virtual proof is accepted. No proof of need is required.
We are open to all high school students seeking a prom dress! If a student requires translation assistance or other special accommodations, please include that information in the comment section of the sign-up form or contact us by email at info@fairygoodmothers.org so we can do our best to assist. If you are a school counselor organizing a group trip, please contact us at info@fairygoodmothers.org to make arrangements.
Sign-ups close 24-48 hours in advance so we can prepare our volunteers. If you want to come but can't sign-up, please come as a walk-in. Walk-in appointments are accepted after 10:30am each day and only as Personal Shoppers become available so we strongly encourage students to pre-book their appointments online in order to provide the best possible experience for everyone and to help cut down on wait times.
If you would like to bring someone with you, we have room for each student to bring one member of their family or a friend. This person will stay in a waiting area while the student shops with a personal shopper. While we have a waiting area space, it can get crowded so if you bring more than one family member, we will ask that they wait in an alternate area.
We will have some photography and videography in various public spaces during the Boutique. If a student is under 18 and would like to be in pictures, we will need a model release signed by a parent/guardian.
Dress comfortably with appropriate undergarments for changing. We do not have individual changing areas so tanks or sports bras are suggested. We will also send an email reminder with further details prior to your Boutique date, so please keep an eye out for more information on what to wear, where to go, and what to bring!
