Volunteer Sign-Up Instructions for the 2025 Cinderella's Closet Boutique

It’s time to kick off prom season with the opening of the 2025 Cinderella's Closet Boutique!

Event Location:
The Boutique will be held at our storefront in The Shops at Worthington Place:
7227 N. High Street, Worthington, OH 43085 (West Entrance, near Amano's Pizza).

Event Details:
High school students in need of a dress and accessories for prom will pre-register online. We will serve 25 students per half-hour along with walk-ins.

Volunteer Shifts:
Volunteers may sign up for morning or afternoon shifts. If you’re able to commit to a full day, please sign up for all slots for that day. We would also love to have you volunteer for multiple days if possible!

Snacks and Drinks:
To help us keep costs down and direct our funds toward purchasing new dresses, we kindly ask volunteers to consider donating snacks or drinks for the sessions they are working.

Volunteer Training:
We will host virtual training sessions before the first boutique day each month. These short, 30-minute sessions are ideal for new volunteers and serve as a great refresher for returning volunteers. A brief orientation will also be provided at the beginning of each volunteer shift.

Volunteer Requirements:

• Volunteers working directly with students must be female and at least 21 years old.
• Please do not bring children during your volunteer shift.
• Males or minors interested in supporting the event in other capacities can email volunteer@fairygoodmothers.org for additional opportunities.
• Volunteers should wear all black and comfortable shoes.

Attendance Policy:
Your participation is vital to the success of the boutique! If you are unable to attend your scheduled shift, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Repeated no-shows will result in removal from our volunteer list.

We truly depend on our amazing volunteers to help us run the boutique smoothly and make this a special event for Central Ohio high school students. Thank you for supporting this meaningful cause!

Cinderella's Closet Boutique

When Cinderella's Closet Boutique opens in the spring each year, Fairy Goodmothers relies on its generous volunteers to help make it a success. Having enough volunteer Personal Shoppers, Runners, Greeters, Seamstresses and others is absolutely critical. 

Volunteer Positions:

As a Personal Shopper, you will be paired with a high school student and help them find the perfect dress for prom - taking fit, style, color, and prom themes into consideration! This is a great role for someone who is outgoing, loves fashion, and wants a more hands-on role during the Boutique. 

• Note: This is a role that can have a lot of standing and walking around. Please keep that in mind when signing up and please wear comfortable shoes!

As a Runner, you make sure dresses are laced, zipped, hung on hangers, and are ready to be tried on by our students! You help keep the Boutique racks organized and tidy. This is a good role for someone who likes to be on the move and takes satisfaction with an organized space. 

• Note: There will be some heavy lifting on and off of the dress racks - some ball gowns are HEAVY. If you are on the shorter side, it will be tough to hang dresses on the 80+ inch high racks!

As a Floater, you will rotate around the Boutique, helping out with various roles as needed. This is a perfect role for someone who enjoys variety and isn't shy about taking on different tasks throughout the day!

• Note: This is a role that can have a lot of standing and walking around. Please keep that in mind when signing up and please wear comfortable shoes!

As a Bagger, you will carefully place dresses in dress bags, taking care to minimize wrinkles and ensuring that the dress is protected on its journey home. You will also help the Personal Shoppers make sure they document the dress inventory number and other information on each students' registration cards!

• Note: This is a role that can have many busy periods punctuated with some downtime. 

As a Jewelry & Accessories Assistant, you help students select jewelry, handbags, and wraps to help accentuate their outfits. You will also help keep the area tidy and stocked up with available jewelry and accessory items.

We will also need assistance during the event with check out, escorting students and parents between the Boutique and waiting area, stuffing goody bags, and other needs that pop up during the day. No job is too small!
